Hp Dv6700 Graphics Driver For Mac
In 'customize and buy' they give you two options: 1. NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M 2. 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS What I'd rather have is 'NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT' The 7150M is 'dedicated/integrated' i know, it's all over this forum, but what I don't get is if its possible to upgrade to either the 8400M or 8600M after purchasing the HP dv6700z with the 7150M. (Seems as though the 8400M is not dedicated/integrated') Can the 7150M be upgraded with a 8400M (and 8600M)? Can the 8400M be upgraded with a 8600M?
Just a FYI if you have a HP DV6700 Laptop Lion runs great. Use the tonymacx86 xmove install but in snow leopard before you reboot to install lion install multibeast 3.8.0 to installer drive and use system utilitys, fakesmc, and chimera. It will say install failed just ignore it then continue to reboot and boot from installer and install lion. If you have any questions on install on a DV6700 just shoot me a message. Use Kexts i attached below which will enable wifi eithernet and pci.

I just ordered another dv6700 off ebay to make another since EVERYTHING works on this one perfect (wish I could sell these lol). If i can find away to upload such a big file i thought about backing up my hdd using disc utility restore and uploading on here. That way u just download the copy of my hdd to a usb flash drive, boot using os x retail disc, go to disc utility and restore from flash drive to your hdd and reboot. That way all the work is done for you. Let me know what yall need.
Hi gvillelube, I also have the DV6700 (DV6838TX) and Lion works great. I have sound working using VoodooHDA 0.22 (volume control works), but i have problem with my internal microphone. If I do a voice test call using Skype, I only hear noise. Do you have your mic working properly? Are you using VoodooHDA or AppleHDA? Do you mind to post your kext here?
Another problem I have is my sleep doesn't work. If i put my computer to sleep, the cpu fan continues to spin and computer freezes. I also changed my Lion to boot in 32bits mode. My mouse started skipping when i first boot the system for about 10 secs then its fine. I have a dv6835nr.

For all of you guys having trouble getting the SD card reader working, use the VoodooSDHC.Kext I have attached below. As for wifi, I had to order a wireless card from an older model MacBook Pro which I got for $10 off ebay since the old one had zero support for OS X. The microphone is recognized as mic in sound input, but I can't seem to get it working on Skype or FaceTime.
Also the sound is a whole lot quieter than it was back when I used windows on both the headphones and on the speakers when I use VoodooHDA0.2.2. From MultiBeast. Also I can't figure out how to set OS X to auto recognize my headphones when I plug them in. I had to modify the BIOS to add the new AirPort Extreme Atheros card to my HP Whitelist.

I also get a Kernel Panic when I attach HDMI and the sound stops working if I dock my computer through the expansion port 3. If there is a way to get my Microphone working, I would greatly appreciate it, and if you have any questions about the kexts I used, just ask.
