Texas instruments acx100 driver for mac os

I forgot some additional information: lspci -v shows following: 0000:02:00.0 Network controller: Texas Instruments ACX 100 22Mbps Wireless Interface Subsystem: D-Link System Inc: Unknown device 3b00 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 53 I/O ports at 1000 size=32 Memory at f3010000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) size=4K Memory at f3000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) size=64K Capabilities: 40 Power Management version 2 i got the dmesg error when i tried to insert the module with the following command: insmod /pathto/acxpci firmwaredir=/pathto/acxpci.ko Hello! I've some troubles to get a D-Link DWL-650+ Card working under my G4 Powerbook.

I don't know where to search further for solutions, please help me out. The Kernel I use is the patched 'ppc-development-sources' from gentoo packages tree, which is in fact the version 2.6.3-benh2. The acx100 module was compiled and installed without any problems. I tried different firmware images (different releases and different versions), no change. A 'wlan0' device isn't available neither.

In 'dmesg' i get following error: acx100: It looks like you were coaxed into buying a wireless network card acx100: that uses the mysterious ACX100 chip from Texas Instruments. acx100: You should better have bought e.g. A PRISM(R) chipset based cardacx100: since that would mean REAL vendor Linux support.

Cool, a Powerbook user!:) I haven't had any reports from Powerbook users (or I think there was one person doing that a looong time ago), so I'm obviously very interested in getting that driver to run. On the other hand this means that it might take some time for you to be able to enjoy perfect ACX100 operation;-) acx100: It looks like you were coaxed into buying a wireless network card acx100: that uses the mysterious ACX100 chip from Texas Instruments. acx100: You should better have bought e.g. A PRISM(R) chipset based cardacx100: since that would mean REAL vendor Linux support.

Allocated - bytes for firmware module loading. Probably an endianness problem. Hmm, - is 0xffffffffa4830008 as the size of the firmware to load. Cable dku-5 driver for mac. Could you send me the firmware image you are using, WLANGEN.BIN? Andreas Mohr - Give a man fire, he'll be warm for a few hours. Set a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life. Hi, it's not yet working on my powerbook.

First i had problems compiling all the usb stuff of the acx100-0.2.0pre7plusfixes5.tar.gz version, so i just deleted all the usb stuff in the makefile. This way the acxpci module was compiled without problems. Modprobing is working without problems, but when i insert now my dwl650+ pcmcia wireless card, following error occurs: PCI: Enabling device 0001:02:00.0 (0000 - 0003) Found ACX100-based wireless network card, phymem1:0xf3010000, phymem2:0xf3000000, irq:53, mem1:0xe1234000, mem1size:4096, mem2:0xe15aa000, mem2size:65536 compiled with wireless extensions v16 acx100probepci: using acx100 io resource adresses (size: 96) hwunavailable = 1 reset hwunavailable acx100resetmac: enable soft reset.

Acx100resetmac: disable soft reset and go to init mode. Allocated 40636 bytes for firmware module loading. Firmware is reporting a different size 0xb49e0008 to read 0x00009ebc acx100readfw failed. Acx100resetdev: Failed to upload firmware to the ACX100 acx100probepci: TI acx100pci: MAC initialize failure! Acx100probepci: TI acx100pci.o: Ver 0.2.0pre7 Loading FAILED acx100pci: probe of 0001:02:00.0 failed with error -5 this ist with the dwl650+drivers307.zip firmware.

What does that mean? Firmware is reporting a different size 0xb49e0008 to read 0x00009ebc thank you for your help greetings, sebastian liechti HiLet's check.

Hmm, - is 0xffffffffa4830008 as the size of the firmware to load. Could you send me the firmware image you are using, WLANGEN.BIN? I tested it with different ones: Right know i'm trying it with the attached one (the one for windows 2000 of the driver version 307). And the 307 firmware is the one that produces the log file you sent me, right? (I can not see ANY meaningful A4 or 83 value in a hex dump of that file.) Weird. I probably still had another WLANGEN.BIN in the firmware directory, sorry.

Let's check. Oh yes, hm, it was the one from the 303 driver. Now i tried with the 307 version (for sure, really!, i tried several ways and times.) and it gives: Allocated - bytes for firmware module loading. Unable to allocate memory for firmware module loading.

acx100readfw failed. acx100resetdev: Failed to upload firmware to the ACX100 acx100probepci: TI acx100pci: MAC initialize failure! acx100probepci: TI acx100pci.o: Ver 0.2.0pre7 Loading FAILED acx100pci: probe of 0001:02:00.0 failed with error -5 regardsSebastian Liechti.
