High School Girls Softball: No-hitter Streak Continues For Mac
Games at 7 p.m. Tuesday, unless noted. Winners advance to the state final four in Clermont.
REGION 1-6A WINTER SPRINGS (24-5) AT FLETCHER (22-4) Outlook: Fletcher routed Winter Springs 9-1 in this round last year, en route to an appearance in the state championship game. The Senators appear poised for another run to the final four behind the hot bats of Amanda Luke (.391) and Katie Satterfield (.407), who hit a three-run homer in the regional semifinal. Kenzie Schuppert (1.26 ERA), Brooke Peaver (.500) and Kelly Wilson (.440) remain solid for Fletcher. REGION 1-4A GULF BREEZE (19-10) AT BARTRAM TRAIL (26-3) Outlook: Bartram Trail lost little momentum in its move to a new classification, stretching its regional playoff win streak to 12 games. Kalyn Loverich (0.36 ERA, 279 K) continues to dominate from the pitcher's circle, receiving help from offensive leaders Abby Tewey, Libby Crowe and Joanna Malandrucco.

The trio has helped fill the void left by injured top slugger Christie Bailey. REGION 1-3A BOLLES (25-4) AT TALLAHASSEE FLORIDA HIGH (25-3) Outlook: Bolles ousted Florida High 7-1 in the first round last year and returns a solid core of starters from that team. One key addition has been freshman catcher Mikayla Davis, who has handled standout pitcher Haylie Wilson (0.72 ERA, 226 K) this year. Maddy Schroeder, Marley Ramirez, Meagan Burke and Adrienne Hume lead the offense for the Bulldogs, who appear ready to roll back into the final four.
REGION 2-2A PROVIDENCE (24-5) AT ORLANDO PINE CASTLE CHRISTIAN (21-7), 4 P.M. Outlook: Providence, which is seeking a third consecutive trip to the final four, looks like a strong candidate for the state finals with senior pitcher Jess Childers (13-4, 1.01 ERA, 112 K) coming off a no-hitter in the regional semifinals. She hasn't allowed a run in the last three games.
Leading hitter Sammie Meenaghan should continue to provide a spark for the Stallions' offense. REGION 1-1A MONTICELLO AUCILLA CHRISTIAN (17-10) VS. EAGLE'S VIEW (15-5) at Jacksonville Equestrian Center Outlook: Eagle's View has bounced Aucilla Christian in the regionals the last four years, including en route to back-to-back state titles. This year should be much of the same as the Warriors have six sluggers hitting above.400 for the season - Kristin Brown (.493), Aaron Cribb (.406), Brittany Evans (.471), Brooke Evans (.461), Amber Phillips (.417) and Brittany Silcox (.457).
