Hi tech guys, I'm in China (I'm an expat) and I work in a video game company, so it can be safely said that I have a very powerful internet connection. The company is based in Beijing. However, when I try to connect to Shanghai servers they're always cripplingly slow (300-400 ping). Hong Kong is no better.

In fact, it's better when I've turned on my OpenVPN service. I think that's something to do with the Great Firewall of China (all non-Mainland connections are kinda slow because of it).

In Shanghai though, it's a domestic connection so it should be fast. Can anyone shed any light on the performance of Chinese servers and if they're practically restricted to Shanghainese players? I assume that if you want to make this game a success in China (which was recently stated), you'll need to have fast connections all the way from Xinjiang province to Guangdong! I'm in Beijing and I can't even play a game on a Chinese server!
